Motherland is an ongoing documentary project touching on the connection between the land of Indiana, intergenerational matrilineal relationships, and the amalgamated culture born from trauma, death, and time. Motherland is a collection of stories, years, and hidden histories.
Motherland finds its footing in a fatal car crash in 1966, a chronicle of a family’s battle with dementia, a land that has been the avatar for grief and change, and the borders that define the geographic plot of the legacies of rivers and fields, two mothers, and those who come after them.
